A ZUD 1/4 20 MALE is a short female rod that ends in a ¼ 20 male screw. It is primarily used to mount a lightweight accessory like a mic or the Zoom H4N that attaches with a ¼ 20 screw to a rod so you can use a Zacuto quick release mount. It can also be used to attach these accessories to an empty rod port in a Zacuto Zwiss Plate or DSLR Zwiss Cage. The Zud is threaded on the inside so it can be extended with a Zacuto male rod of any length. Use a Zube to keep the rods tight and stop them from spinning.

Zud 1/4 20
I just order this so I could mount a Z-rod in the 1/4 20 hole on the top of my Canon C100's. I love how you can lock the Zud down so it wont turn, providing a rock solid rod mount to attach additional need gear to my camera. It expensive but the only solution I have tried that really works!
