The shoulder pad can be mounted three different ways; it can screw into Zacuto rod extensions, it can be mounted directly underneath your rod system to achieve counterbalance with DOF camera rigs by using a Zacuto Q-release or it can be used in conjunction with the Zacuto Zoffset. The Zoffset is used with professional camcorders that have the viewfinders positioned in the center in order to have your eye positioned comfortably in the viewfinder.

The Shoulder Pad includes 7” rods.

Q-Release

The Q-Release allows you to mount the Zacuto Shoulder Pad underneath your camera for better counter-balance when using a Depth-of-field adapter or camera package lengths up to 36 inches. It allows you to move the center of gravity forward. It also has a handy quick release that allows you to quickly mount and un-mount the shoulder pad.

Zoffset

The Zoffset is used in conjunction with the Zacuto Shoulder Pad. It allows you to shift the lightweight support rods 3 inches to the right and 2 inches up, thus enabling you to position your eye comfortably in the viewfinder of most palm camcorders that have viewfinders in the back and center. It is meant to be used as part of a Zacuto Universal Baseplate System.

Shoulder Pad (no rods)

Zacuto’s original Shoulder Pad with no rods. Any 15mm aluminum rods will fit into the grooves of the Shoulder Pad. With the addition of rods, you can mount the Shoulder Pad behind your baseplate or underneath your rod system using our Q-Release. If you need to offset your rig to position your viewfinder comfortable in your eye, you can use our Zoffset to move the camera to the right or left of the pad. The Shoulder Pad is 5 ¾” long.
