The Zacuto Zwiss Cage is an all in one portable mounting solution for your DSLR and accessories. Utilizing our Zwiss Cage Plate, the Zwiss Cage allows you to easily mount articulating arms, rods, monitors, lights, sound devices, and more. The Zwiss Cage Plate has multiple 1/4 20" and 3/8 16" holes so your mounting options are limitless. You also have two 15mm Z-Release holes on top of the cage. The Z-Release quick release system allows you to avoid screwing and unscrewing accessories. You can simply mount the accessories with our ZUDs or Zamerican Arms. The Zwiss Cage includes all black rods.

Attached to the top of the Zwiss Cage Plate is our Top Handle. This handle is attached to the Zwiss Cage Plate using (2) 1/4 20" screws, making it easily customizable to your shooting needs.

The Zwiss Cage Plate uses our DSLR Baseplate as its foundation. This plate is fully height adjustable for DSLRs with or without battery grips or tall body cameras like the Canon 1D Mark IV. The DSLR Baseplate also comes with a set of 3.5" rods, perfect for a follow focus or matte box. If you are using longer lenses, you can always add rod extensions to the front of these 3.5" rods, or swap the rods out entirely with a longer set.

The DSLR Baseplate quick release function allows your camera to be quick released from the rig by turning the red knob on the side of the DSLR Baseplate. Now you can switch between using the camera as part of the Zwiss Cage or on its own in seconds. The entire setup mounts to your tripod plate by using standard tripod screws, (2) ¼ 20” and (1) 3/8 16”.

ZipGear- Prime lens kit

Wireless Plate Pro

The Zacuto Wireless Plate Pro allows you to mount any size wireless, down-converter, video transmitter regardless of size, make, model or manufacturer with Velcro.

The Wireless plate can screw into the Zacuto Zwiss Plate, Zacuto Red Plate or can mount off a 15mm rod by using a Wireless bracket and a z-lock.

ZUD1/4 20 M

A ZUD 1/4" 20 male (retrofit any 1/4 20 female with Z-Release) is used to retrofit your existing articulating arm, giving you Zacuto Z-Release (quick release) action on one or both ends of the articulating arm. ZUDs are now all black. ZUDs convert your 1/4" 20 or 3/8" 16 screws to 15mm rods, thus allowing them to fit into Zacuto Z-Release components like Z-mounts, 15mm Z-locks, ZicroMounts and all other Zacuto 15mm locking devices. An additional feature of a ZUD; any Zacuto male rod can screw into the end of the ZUD allowing you to create an extension to your articulating arm. The articulating arm is not included.

EVF Flip

The Zacuto Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) is a 3.2” high resolution monitor to be used in conjunction with any Z-Finder model. The EVF is compatible with all cameras that have an HDMI output, including most DSLRs, the Panasonic AF-100, Sony F3, RED ONE, RED Scarlet and RED Epic. The EVF is compatible with the Blackmagic Camera (or other camera with no HDMI output) with use of the Blackmagic HD-SDI to HDMI mini converter. The EVF allows you to operate with your camera "in-line" with your rod system and an offset viewfinder in front of your eye. We believe, this traditional film camera and ENG camera style of shooting is the most stable and comfortable. Now we can work this way with any camera! The EVF enhances the stability of any set up, gives you better resolution and focus ability, allows you to get your eye where it most comfortably needs to be, enables low mode shooting, and shortens a shoulder mounted camera package. With an external viewfinder, you’re no longer trapped behind the back of your camera. You can have your camera on a dolly or crane or in a car or anywhere and have the EVF in your hand.

The EVF Flip has a Z-Finder frame built into the unit that can be flipped open to 180 degrees. If a producer/client/director etc. wants to see into the viewfinder, you can flip it open instead of having to adjust so they can get their eye to the loupe. You can also pop off the Z-Finder and use the EVF as a monitor similar to the EVF Snap. The EVF Flip is compatible with any Z-finder.

Zwiss Cage Plate

The Zwiss Cage Plate is an 11" long cheese plate that includes multiple 1/4 20" and 3/8 16" mounting holes as well as (4) 15mm mounting holes on the ends for a variety of uses. It differs from our standard Zwiss Plate in length. This length is needed so it can be used to create a cage like the DSLR Z-Cage and would like to convert to a Zwiss Cage, this is the plate you are looking for. In addition, if you want the handles staggered as we show on the Zwiss cage, you will need to purchase (2) Z-Mount IIs to replace the Z-Mount Zwivels on the existing z- cage. The vertical handles on the Zwiss Cage are staggered as opposed to being parallel like on the DLSR Z-Cage for more stability. QR Handle

The QR Handle is a multi purpose top handle that can be used on the Scarlet, Epic cameras and other accessories such as the Zacuto Zwiss Cage. The handle is ideal for low-mode shooting and easy transport of your camera. The base of the handle attaches via (2) ¼” 20 screws (included) that are spaced 3/8" screw center to center at their closest to 2" 5/32" at their furthest. The Top Handle mounts to the base via Zacuto’s quick release Z-Rail system, allowing you to leave the base on the camera and remove the handle with the flip of a lever. The handle can be slid left or right on the Z-Rail to balance the camera’s center of gravity. Zacuto dovetail accessories are adjustable to work with Z-Rail, NATO, SWAT, RED, PICATINNY, and WOODEN CAMERA rails.

The handle and rods assembly is 7” long. Both ends of the handle are female threaded for extensions.

You can also mount other accessories to this handle by using our T-Mount (single hole) or Tri-Mount (dual hole). The T-Mount has (1) 15mm port that is secured with an Allen screw and (1) 15mm quick release hole. The port attaches to the Top Handle rod, giving you a 15mm hole to mount anything from your mic, EVF, light, recorder, etc. The dual hole Tri-Mount also has (1) 15mm port but includes (2) 15mm holes so you can mount two accessories at the same time. Click on the main image to see detailed pictures of both mounts. The T-Mount and Tri-Mount are not included with the QR Handle.
