The Zacuto EVF is a 3.2” high resolution monitor that is used in conjunction with all the Z-Finder models. The EVF is compatible with all cameras that have an HDMI output including the Panasonic AF-100, Sony F3, RED ONE, RED Scarlet and RED Epic. The EVF allows you to operate the DSLR camera or any camera with an HDMI port, with the correct form factor for video with the camera "in-line" to your rod system (the most stable way) and your eye in the Z-Finder offset. This is the way all film cameras and ENG video cameras were operated and we, at Zacuto, believe this should be the way DSLR cameras should be operated. It will enhance the stability, give you better resolution, allow you to get your eye where it most comfortably needs to be, enable low mode shooting, shorten your camera package, have your EVF in the back of a dolly or crane, detached from the rig for car shots and more.

The Z-Finder EVF Pro is a complete EVF with diopter. It includes the EVF Flip model and an optical viewfinder which will snap onto the frame of the monitor and can flip up 180 degrees. The optical viewfinder contains high quality 2.5x optics with anti-fog shields and a diopter. The anti-fog is extremely important for reducing fog. It will also include extender frames. The Z-Finder Extender Frames allow you to further adjust the focal point of the Z-Finder by semi-permanently stacking the frames via a snap fit onto the skirt of the Z-Finder until the LCD screen is in focus for you.

EVF Tri Mount Kit EVF Tri Mount Kit

 The EVF Tri-Mount Kit gives the option to mount the EVF in 3 different ways. It gives you the option to use the EVF Standard Mount when shooting handheld (off the side of the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate), the Extender Viewfinder Mount when shooting on a tripod or dolly, or in quick release hotshoe mount configuration (see detailed images).

The Tri-Mount includes the EVF Standard Mount as well as a 7” M/F rod and a ZUD ¼” 20. The 7” M/F rod allows you to use the EVF in an extender viewfinder position. To use the extender viewfinder mount, remove the EVF Mount from the Z-Mount Zwivel, then screw the 7” M/F rod into the EVF Mount and then slide the Z-mount Zwivel wherever you like so that you can position your EVF to your desired position.

The included ZUD ¼” 20 allows you to free the camera and EVF from your rig and mount it quickly to the hot shoe mount of your camera. In order to use the quick release hot shoe mount effectively, the hot shoe mount included with the EVF should be mounted on your camera’s hot shoe adapter. Then screw the ZUD ¼” 20 into the hot shoe mount and leave that on your camera’s hot shoe adapter. You can then quickly release or attach the EVF from either the Standard Mount or Extender Viewfinder mount with a flip of the lever. This is essential for releasing your camera as well as your EVF from your rig in a matter of seconds.

EVF Standard Mount EVF Standard Mount

 The EVF Standard Mount is used to mount the EVF onto the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate. It includes a 4.5” F/F rod that attaches to 15mm rod hole on the side of the DSLR Baseplate and a Z-Mount Zwivel. The Z-Mount Zwivel is a 15mm to 15mm rod connector that allows you to attach a vertical rod or the included EVF pan and tilt mount to the horizontal rod coming out of the side of the DSLR Baseplate. Attached to the vertical EVF pan and tilt mount is Zacuto’s Zicro Mini. This allows you quickly release the EVF from the EVF Standard Mount with the flip of the lever. The pan and tilt allows you to adjust the angle of your EVF to the desired position.

 The EVF Rod Mount attaches your Zacuto EVF to any 15mm rod. This is perfect if you want to connect your EVF Mount to another manufacturer’s rig or to a Zacuto Universal Baseplate when using a video camera such as the AF-100, Sony F3, or FS100. The combination of our Z-mount Zwivel 360 degree connector at the corner and our tilt and pan mount at the top give you unlimited options for placing your EVF. EVF Quick Release Mount EVF Quick Release Mount

 The EVF Quick Release Mount enables you to quickly move your EVF between the Hotshoe Ball Mount (included with the EVF’s) and any 15mm arm system or rod. Simply attach the ZUD ¼ 20 to the standard ¼ 20 male screw on top of the Hotshoe Ball Mount (or any other ¼ 20 screw mount), attach the Zicro Mini to the bottom of your EVF via the ¼” 20, and slide it onto the ZUD. Turn the lever on the Zicro Mini to secure the EVF and turn again to release. This allows you to quickly move the EVF to use a different shooting technique.

 The EVF Filmmaker Kit is the ultimate shoulder mounted rig for the indie filmmaker designed to work with any of our EVFs . It uses our Universal Baseplate to mount to any camera, including the Panasonic AF-100, Sony F3, Sony FS100, RED ONE, HVX200 and other cameras of this size. The EVF Filmmaker Kit includes our Z-Focus follow focus, ZipGear Prime Lens Kit (set of lens gears), and everything you need to mount a matte box, pro batteries and any of our EVF viewfinders off of the Universal Baseplate. The EVF Filmmaker Kit comes with our Q-Release which enables the shoulder pad to sit underneath the Universal Baseplate, shortening the length of the rig for better stability and balance on your shoulder. With the included EVF Rod Mount, your EVF or small monitor (under 5") will be mounted offset to the rig so that your eye is positioned comfortably in front of it. The Zgrips Beefy included with the kit are infinitely adjustable with un-parallel strength. Designed for camera packages between 22-40 lbs, each grip can be moved up, down, left, right, as well as fully articulate at the wrist. Stinger Stinger

 Our Stinger rig is our solution to DSLR shoulder mounted shooting with an EVF or small on-board monitor. The Stinger includes all black rods. This rig uses our height adjustable DSLR Baseplate to mount to any DSLR and tripod. The baseplate attaches to your tripod using the standard tripod plate screws; (2) 1/4 20" and (1) 3/8 16". You can also easily quick release your camera from the rig by turning the red knob on the baseplate and pulling up on your camera. This cool feature allows you to quickly switch between using the camera on its own or as part of your rig.

This system includes our shoulder pad and Z-Lite 7 lb counterbalance weight for a fully balanced in-line rig. The more balanced the rig, the less front heaviness and arm fatigue. You can slide the counterbalance weight forward and backward on the rods for custom comfort. This rig can be used on your left or right shoulder. With the shoulder pad and counterbalance weight coming directly off of the back of the baseplate, the rig is perfectly in-line and ready to be used with one of our EVFs or an on-board monitor for traditional ENG style shooting. You can mount your EVF or monitor to the side of the rig using our EVF Standard Mount Kit or EVF Tri Mount Kit. FS100 Filmmaker Kit FS100 Filmmaker Kit

 The FS100 Filmmaker Kit is specifically designed for the Sony FS100, however it can be used with other video cameras similar to the FS100. The base of this kit is our trusty Universal Baseplate and Z-spacer. The Z-spacer raises the camera to get the lens at the correct height for use with a matte box. The Z-spacer is not necessary with other cameras like the Sony F3 and AF100, and isn’t needed if you are not using a matte box with your FS100.

The FS100 Filmmaker kit is a in-line shoulder mounted kit that will allow you to use the Zacuto EVF (not included) off the side with our EVF Rod Mount, like a traditional camera package. It includes our Shoulder Pad, Zgrips V3 and Zwiss plate for mounting professional batteries and the AJA Ki Pro mini. The Zwiss plate with professional batteries will also act as a counter balance weight when shooting handheld.

This kit also includes our Z-Focus follow focus and a set of lens gears to allow you to pull accurate focus. We also included the ¼ 20” Lens Support.

This is the perfect all in kit for FS100 owners. No worries if you have another camera, you can still use this kit, just take off the Z-Spacer and you are good to go.

EVF Cheese Stick EVF Cheese Stick

  The EVF Cheese Stick is an accessory for the Zacuto EVF. It attaches to the EVF via two of the four accessory screw holes on the back of the unit. You can mount the Cheese Stick either on the top or bottom of the EVF in 3 different positions. Mounting the Cheese stick with the step facing out enables you to use a Zicro Mini to mount a Zamerican Arm using our z-release technology. This will prevent the Zicro Mini from spinning loose and un-threading - a common issue with standard mounting arms. All of these options give you more flexibility in mounting your EVF. The EVF Cheese Stick has 5 ¼” 20 thread holes aligned in a row which allows you to under sling the EVF in multiple positions giving you more reach for articulating arms. In most cases this is extremely useful when mounting the EVF off of one of the ¼” 20 holes on the larger video cameras like the Sony F3 or Panasonic AF100. See detailed pictures

Scorpion Shoulder Assembly Scorpion Shoulder Assembly

 The Scorpion Shoulder Assembly is an all-in-one shoulder pad system for an in-line Zacuto DSLR Baseplate kit. It is best used for traditional ENG style shooting with our EVF or a small monitor. It includes a curved Akton Polymer shoulder pad, adjustable top handle, and rods to connect the entire assembly to the back of your Zacuto DSLR Baseplate as well as rods to add a counterbalance weight, such as our Z-Lite.

The curved form-fitting Akton Polymer pad is a unique design built for ultimate comfort. The pad cushions your shoulder and positions a counterbalance low down behind your shoulder to counteract the weight in the front, resulting in a tremendously comfortable rig, perfect for long shoots. The entire assembly can also be articulated in multiple directions thanks to the built in innovative ball joint feature at the front of the pad. Adjusting the angle of the pad is extremely important for individual comfort. Another great feature is the built in top handle. The handle is great for taking your rig on and off of your shoulder, low mode shooting and easy carrying. The handle can be custom positioned up or down into the pad itself with the turn of a lever.

The pad assembly connects to the back of the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate via (2) 1” M/F rods. These rods screw into the back of the baseplate and connect to the shoulder pad itself via 15mm quick release ports. This quick release system allows you to quickly switch from handheld to tripod. The shoulder assembly also includes (2) 3.5” M/F rods in the back so you can easily add any 15mm accessory for counterbalance such as our Z-Lite or Zwiss Plate (with a battery plate and pro brick batteries facing away from the pad). The amount of counterbalance you add in the back is determined by the amount of weight you have in front.

The Scorpion Shoulder Pad assembly is not recommended for offset rigs like our Double Barrel kit. It is meant to be used for in-line rigs (like the Scorpion) where your eye is positioned in the EVF.

C300 Stinger C300 Stinger

 The EOS C300 Stinger rig is an in-line system best used on long shooting days. It is a balanced shoulder mounted rig. It features our C300 Studio Baseplate which attaches to the camera with 3/8” 16 and ¼” 20 screws*. This baseplate features a pair of 15mm rods that are 12” long running through the length of the baseplate. You can quickly reposition the rods for various lens lengths by loosening the 2 levers, one on each side of the baseplate. On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15mm lightweight holes. The side holes take 15mm female rods that are locked via an allen screw. This gives users a virtually unlimited amount of mounting options. With these side holes, you have the option of turning the baseplate into a cage configuration. Another option is to mount a Zwiss plate with professional batteries off of the side when shooting on a tripod for better balance.

The Stinger includes our Shoulder Pad with 7” rods and Z-Lite 7 lb counterbalance weight for a fully balanced in-line rig. The more balanced and less front heavy the rig, the longer you can hold it without arm fatigue. This rig is compatible with any 15mm accessories. The Z-Focus would be a great add on accessory if you are looking for a follow focus.
