This item is an open box refurbished EVF Snap. It will come in the original box with all of the accessories and user manual. The item may contain some cosmetic blemishes on the casing and possibly a few dead pixels.

Our pixel policy for refurbished units is as follows:
Without Magnification: 0 White pixels and 0 Red. Green or Blue dots visible with the naked eye.
With Magnification (Looking through the Z-Finder): No more than 3 white pixels total (2 of which could be in the critical middle third) or 8 Red, Green or Blue dots.

This unit still comes with our 1 year limited warranty.

The Zacuto EVF is a 3.2” high resolution monitor that is used in conjunction with all the Z-Finder models. The EVF is compatible with all cameras that have an HDMI output including the Panasonic AF-100, Sony F3, RED ONE, RED Scarlet and RED Epic. The EVF allows you to operate the DSLR camera or any camera with an HDMI port, with the correct form factor for video with the camera "in-line" to your rod system (the most stable way) and your eye in the Z-Finder offset. This is the way all film cameras and ENG video cameras were operated and we, at Zacuto, believe this should be the way DSLR cameras should be operated. It will enhance the stability, give you better resolution, allow you to get your eye where it most comfortably needs to be, enable low mode shooting, shorten your camera package, have your EVF in the back of a dolly or crane, detached from the rig for car shots and more.

The EVF snap is our standard EVF that has the Zacuto Z-Finder Frame built into the unit. The Z-Finder Pro or Jr. snap on and off of the monitor. You can use the EVF as a small on-board monitor or as an EVF alone.

Z-Finder Pro 2.5x

The Z-Finder Pro 2.5x is another one of Zacuto’s Optical Viewfinders that allows DSLR cameras to have the correct form factor for video. It offers 2.5x focusable magnification (3x is available),a 40mm diameter Zacuto optical designed lens, an anti-fog coating protective cover, an eyecup preventing extraneous light leakage, a diopter and a field of view perfectly matched to 3” LCD screens. The diopter allows you to dial in the focus to match your eye. If you need extra focal point you can use the Z-Finder Extender Frames. The Z-Finder Pro 2.5x has a diopter range of -4.75 and up (unlimited with extender frames). These are semi-permanently stackable frames that attach to the skirt of the Z-Finder Pro and extend the Z-Finder glass further way from the LCD screen for people who are farsighted.

This frame is not compatible with the D800, D4, 1DX, or 5D Mark III. A D4 and 1DX frame will be available soon. A 2.5x Z-finder packaged with a 3.2in frame for the MIII and D800 is available here!

Z-Finder Jr.

The Z-Finder Jr. is one of Zacuto’s Optical Viewfinders that allows DSLR cameras to have the correct form factor for video. It offers 2.5x focusable magnification, a 40mm diameter Zacuto optical designed lens, an eyecup preventing extraneous light leakage, and a field of view perfectly matched to 3” LCD screens. The Z-Finder Jr. does not have a diopter instead it uses Z-Finder Extender Frames to adjust the focal point. The Z-Finder Extender Frames attach to the skirt of the Z-Finder Jr. and allow you to semi-permanently stack the frames until the LCD screen is in focus for you. The Z-Finder Jr. uses a mounting bracket that must be sandwiched in between a tripod plate and the camera. The bracket mounts to the ¼ 20” screw on your tripod plate and the actual Jr. is held in place with pressure from the fork of the bracket it sits in. You also have the option to mount the Z-Finder Jr. using the Z-Finder Mounting Frame (snap fit adhesive mounting frame) which is also included.

EVF Tri Mount Kit

The EVF Tri-Mount Kit gives the option to mount the EVF in 3 different ways. It gives you the option to use the EVF Standard Mount when shooting handheld (off the side of the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate), the Extender Viewfinder Mount when shooting on a tripod or dolly, or in quick release hotshoe mount configuration (see detailed images).

The Tri-Mount includes the EVF Standard Mount as well as a 7” M/F rod and a ZUD ¼” 20. The 7” M/F rod allows you to use the EVF in an extender viewfinder position. To use the extender viewfinder mount, remove the EVF Mount from the Z-Mount Zwivel, then screw the 7” M/F rod into the EVF Mount and then slide the Z-mount Zwivel wherever you like so that you can position your EVF to your desired position.

The included ZUD ¼” 20 allows you to free the camera and EVF from your rig and mount it quickly to the hot shoe mount of your camera. In order to use the quick release hot shoe mount effectively, the hot shoe mount included with the EVF should be mounted on your camera’s hot shoe adapter. Then screw the ZUD ¼” 20 into the hot shoe mount and leave that on your camera’s hot shoe adapter. You can then quickly release or attach the EVF from either the Standard Mount or Extender Viewfinder mount with a flip of the lever. This is essential for releasing your camera as well as your EVF from your rig in a matter of seconds.

EVF Standard Mount

The EVF Standard Mount is used to mount the EVF onto the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate. It includes a 4.5” F/F rod that attaches to 15mm rod hole on the side of the DSLR Baseplate and a Z-Mount Zwivel. The Z-Mount Zwivel is a 15mm to 15mm rod connector that allows you to attach a vertical rod or the included EVF pan and tilt mount to the horizontal rod coming out of the side of the DSLR Baseplate. Attached to the vertical EVF pan and tilt mount is Zacuto’s Zicro Mini. This allows you quickly release the EVF from the EVF Standard Mount with the flip of the lever. The pan and tilt allows you to adjust the angle of your EVF to the desired position.

EVF Rod Mount

The EVF Rod Mount attaches your Zacuto EVF to any 15mm rod. This is perfect if you want to connect your EVF Mount to another manufacturer’s rig or to a Zacuto Universal Baseplate when using a video camera such as the AF-100, Sony F3, or FS100. The combination of our Z-mount Zwivel 360 degree connector at the corner and our tilt and pan mount at the top give you unlimited options for placing your EVF. The Zicro Mini allows you to quickly release your EVF from the EVF Rod mount with a flip of the lever. The horizontal and vertical rod ends are threaded female so rod extensions can be used for both distance and height. EVF Quick Release Mount

The EVF Quick Release Mount enables you to quickly move your EVF between the Hotshoe Ball Mount (included with the EVF’s) and any 15mm arm system or rod. Simply attach the ZUD ¼ 20 to the standard ¼ 20 male screw on top of the Hotshoe Ball Mount (or any other ¼ 20 screw mount), attach the Zicro Mini to the bottom of your EVF via the ¼” 20, and slide it onto the ZUD. Turn the lever on the Zicro Mini to secure the EVF and turn again to release. This allows you to quickly move the EVF to use a different shooting technique.

FS100 Filmmaker Kit

The FS100 Filmmaker Kit is specifically designed for the Sony FS100, however it can be used with other video cameras similar to the FS100. The base of this kit is our trusty Universal Baseplate and Z-spacer. The Z-spacer raises the camera to get the lens at the correct height for use with a matte box. The Z-spacer is not necessary with other cameras like the Sony F3 and AF100, and isn’t needed if you are not using a matte box with your FS100.

The FS100 Filmmaker kit is a in-line shoulder mounted kit that will allow you to use the Zacuto EVF (not included) off the side with our EVF Rod Mount, like a traditional camera package. It includes our Shoulder Pad, Zgrips V3 and Zwiss plate for mounting professional batteries and the AJA Ki Pro mini. The Zwiss plate with professional batteries will also act as a counter balance weight when shooting handheld.

This kit also includes our Z-Focus follow focus and a set of lens gears to allow you to pull accurate focus. We also included the ¼ 20” Lens Support.

EVF Gorilla Plate Bracket

The EVF Gorilla Plate Bracket is used to mount the EVF onto any of the Zacuto Gorilla Kits that use a Gorilla Plate. It can also be used to mount the EVF onto the DSLR Baseplate. The EVF Gorilla Plate Bracket includes a "sling" bracket which mounts to the Gorilla Plate or DSLR Baseplate using the two allen screws that also attach the red thumb screw block to the plates. (If you are familiar with mounting the Z-Finder Frame on the Gorilla Plate or DSLR Baseplate, the sling bracket is mounted the same way). At the end of the sling bracket is a Z-Mount Zwivel which allows you to attach the EVF Pan and Tilt Mount (included). The Z-Mount Zwivel gives you the ability to position the EVF in a few different ways. Attached to the EVF Pan and Tilt Mount is the ZicroMini. The ZicroMini then attaches to the bottom of EVF with its 1/4" 20 screw. This allows you to quickly release your EVF frmo the mount with the flip of a lever.

Also, if you are looking to use the Zacuto Pincher (Universal mini hdmi cable restraint relief - shown in detailed pictures), it will mount onto this bracket.
