EVF Filmmaker Kit

The EVF Filmmaker Kit is the ultimate shoulder mounted rig for the indie filmmaker designed to work with any of our EVFs . It uses our Universal Baseplate to mount to any camera, including the Panasonic AF-100, Sony F3, Sony FS100, RED ONE, HVX200 and other cameras of this size. The EVF Filmmaker Kit includes our Z-Focus follow focus, ZipGear Prime Lens Kit (set of lens gears), and everything you need to mount a matte box, pro batteries and any of our EVF viewfinders off of the Universal Baseplate. The EVF Filmmaker Kit comes with our Q-Release which enables the shoulder pad to sit underneath the Universal Baseplate, shortening the length of the rig for better stability and balance on your shoulder. With the included EVF Rod Mount, your EVF or small monitor (under 5") will be mounted offset to the rig so that your eye is positioned comfortably in front of it. The Zgrips Beefy included with the kit are infinitely adjustable with un-parallel strength. Designed for camera packages between 22-40 lbs, each grip can be moved up, down, left, right, as well as fully articulate at the wrist. You can also set the grip length and position to where you feel most comfortable for a stable and balanced rig. The Zwiss Plate cheese plate on the back of the rig allows you to mount virtually anything with the provided 1/4 20" and 3/8 16" holes, including batteries and the AJA Ki Pro Mini. You also get your choice of a V-Mount or 3-Stud battery plate allowing you to mount your pro batteries for counterbalance. The 12" articulating arm lets you mount an on board monitor to the Zwiss plate with our quick-release feature. This kit is universal and can be used with any 15mm lightweight accessories.

The Zacuto EVF is a 3.2” high resolution monitor that is used in conjunction with all the Z-Finder models. The EVF is compatible with all cameras that have an HDMI output including the Panasonic AF-100, Sony F3, RED ONE, RED Scarlet and RED Epic. The EVF allows you to operate the DSLR camera or any camera with an HDMI port, with the correct form factor for video with the camera "in-line" to your rod system (the most stable way) and your eye in the Z-Finder offset. This is the way all film cameras and ENG video cameras were operated and we, at Zacuto, believe this should be the way DSLR cameras should be operated. It will enhance the stability, give you better resolution, allow you to get your eye where it most comfortably needs to be, enable low mode shooting, shorten your camera package, have your EVF in the back of a dolly or crane, detached from the rig for car shots and more.

The Z-Finder EVF Pro is a complete EVF with diopter. It includes the EVF Flip model and an optical viewfinder which will snap onto the frame of the monitor and can flip up 180 degrees. The optical viewfinder contains high quality 2.5x optics with anti-fog shields and a diopter. The anti-fog is extremely important for reducing fog. It will also include extender frames. The EVF Flip has a Z-Finder frame built into the unit that can be flipped open to 180 degrees. You can also pop off the Z-Finder and use the EVF as a monitor similar to the EVF Snap. You can use the Z-Finder Pro or Jr. on this model as well. This is essential when working handheld with a producer or director so that you can show them the shot without having to have them get their eye in the viewfinder. You just flip up and they can see the shot!

3/8 16" Lens Support

The 3/8 16" Lens Support uses a 3/8 16" screw to screw directly into a variety of lenses for more support. This lens support clamps to the rods from underneath so it can quickly be taken off the rods. The middle rod that attaches to the lens has vertical adjustment, if needed (please select the rod size below). Only thumb screw tightening is necessary, no tools required. This lens support can be used with a variety of rod sizes. Please select the rods that are being used below for the q-mount.

Wireless Plate Pro

The Zacuto Wireless Plate Pro allows you to mount any size wireless, down-converter, video transmitter regardless of size, make, model or manufacturer with Velcro.

Z-Focus Extender

The Z-Focus Extender is used to extend the distance between the focus knob and gear housing on any Zacuto Z-Focus. Moving the focus knob away from the rods is essential for compact rig setups with multiple accessories. The Z-Focus Extender is 4.5" long. The added distance provides clearance between an EVF and focus knob, making it much easier for the focus puller or camera operator to control the knob and see focus marks. This accessory can potentially shorten your overall rig length by three inches, moving the rig center of gravity closer to the user’s shoulder. Installation is easy. If you are using a Z-Focus that was purchased before January of 2010 or your Z-Focus gear has a hole in the middle instead of a metal pin, please call as you will need a different screw to mount the extender properly.
