The Gorilla Baseplate for the EOS C300, Scarlet and Epic cameras is a simpler, lighter version of our C300 Studio Baseplate. It attaches to the camera with 3/8” 16 and ¼” 20 screws*. The Gorilla Baseplate features 15mm diameter, 60mm spaced threaded rod holes in the front of the base plate that allow users to mount a follow focus, lens support or other accessories in front of the camera. The Gorilla Baseplate is not compatible for matte box use unless you have a height adjustable matte box**.
The Gorilla Baseplate also features our rod port system on the side of the plate which allows you to mount an EVF or other accessories off of the side. The Gorilla Baseplate is great for building simple run’n’gun type set ups like the C300 Target Shooter, C300 Striker and Recoil. It can also be used for a simple tripod set-up. The Gorilla Baseplate does not come with rods, rods must be purchased separately.

The C300 Studio Baseplate is made specifically for the EOS C300 camera. It is exceptionally flat which helps keep the center of gravity low. This baseplate features a pair of 15mm rods that are 12” long running through the length of the baseplate. You can quickly reposition the rods for various lens lengths by loosening the 2 levers, one on each side of the baseplate.
On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15mm lightweight holes. The side holes take 15mm female rods that are locked via an Allen screw. This gives users a virtually unlimited amount of mounting options. With these side holes, you have the option of turning the baseplate into a cage configuration.

The EOS C300 Stinger rig is an in-line system best used on long shooting days. It is a balanced shoulder mounted rig. It features our C300 Studio Baseplate which attaches to the camera with 3/8” 16 and ¼” 20 screws*. This baseplate features a pair of 15mm rods that are 12” long running through the length of the baseplate. You can quickly reposition the rods for various lens lengths by loosening the 2 levers, one on each side of the baseplate. On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15mm lightweight holes. With these side holes, you have the option of turning the baseplate into a cage configuration. Another option is to mount a Zwiss plate with professional batteries off of the side when shooting on a tripod for better balance.
The Stinger includes our Shoulder Pad with 7” rods and Z-Lite 7 lb counterbalance weight for a fully balanced in-line rig. The more balanced and less front heavy the rig, the longer you can hold it without arm fatigue. This rig is compatible with any 15mm accessories. The Z-Focus would be a great add on accessory if you are looking for a follow focus.

The Recoil is the ultimate balanced rig for the C300, Scarlet and Epic Cameras. With the Recoil concept, the camera sits directly on your shoulder like a typical ENG Camera. The Recoil is super light and stripped down (if you are looking for something even more stripped down, check out the Recoil Lite). The Recoil starts with our light Gorilla Baseplate. It attaches to the camera with 3/8” 16 and ¼” 20 screws*. The Gorilla Baseplate features 15mm diameter, 60mm spaced threaded rod holes in the front of the base plate that allow users to mount a follow focus, lens support or other accessories in front of the camera. The Gorilla Baseplate is not compatible for matte box use unless you have a height adjustable matte box**.
Unique to the Recoil is the use of the Zacuto Q-Release and Shoulder Pad. The Q-release allows you to mount the shoulder pad directly underneath the camera and be able to quickly release the shoulder pad from the rig by flipping two levers. This gives you two things: the ability to quickly attach the rig to a tripod and vice versa, and the ability to have the camera sit directly on your shoulder eliminating the front heaviness. Coming off the front of the Recoil is our dual handgrip system, the Zgrips V3. The Recoil requires the use of an EVF. We recommend using the Z-Finder EVF Pro and the EVF Rod Mount to mount the EVF to the Recoil.
The Recoil is a great kit for run & gun style or all day shooting with the EOS C300, Epic or Scarlet. It is an extremely versatile kit.
