The C-Shooter is a quick, easy shoulder mounted rig for C100/300/500 users. The kits centers around our Studio Baseplate for Canon C100/300/500 cameras (standard 3/8 16 and ¼ 20 tripod mount underneath) with 12" rods. The rods can slide back and forth to accommodate different lenses and accessories by turning the red levers at the side of the plate. Our comfy shoulder pad also slides on the rods for comfort and ease of use. A 3.5lb weight sits behind the shoulder pad for counterbalance. This handy little kit creates as close to a typical ENG size set up as you can get for your C100/300/500 camera. It’s the best of both worlds!

Attached to the front of our rods is our ENG Grip Relocator for the Canon C100/300/500*. The Canon removable camera grip attaches directly to our Grip Relocator and our exclusive cable connects to the port on your camera. Once its plugged in, users have trigger or on/off control, lens aperture control, and a programmable function button that can be set to a number of things including waveform, 1 to 1 zoom, zebras, my menu, and many more. The cable is 24" long.

Want to add a follow focus? Check out this kit. An EVF could be attached with our Standard Mount directly into the side of the baseplate.

* The Grip Relocator can also be used with the C500. However, the C500 camera does not come with the Canon Grip. You must purchase that separately from Canon.

EVF Standard Mount

The EVF Standard Mount is used to mount the EVF onto the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate. It includes a 4.5” F/F rod that attaches to 15mm rod hole on the side of the DSLR Baseplate and a Z-Mount Zwivel. The Z-Mount Zwivel is a 15mm to 15mm rod connector that allows you to attach a vertical rod or the included EVF pan and tilt mount to the horizontal rod coming out of the side of the DSLR Baseplate. Attached to the vertical EVF pan and tilt mount is Zacuto’s Zicro Mini. This allows you quickly release the EVF from the EVF Standard Mount with the flip of the lever. The pan and tilt allows you to adjust the angle of your EVF to the desired position.

EVF Mount Kickstand

The EVF Mount Kickstand screws onto the vertical rod in any EVF Mount. It helps stabilize a rig with a single handgrip, when on a flat surface, by providing an extra balance point. Rod is two inches long.

Z-Finder EVF Pro

The Zacuto Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) is a 3.2” high resolution monitor to be used in conjunction with any Z-Finder model. The EVF is compatible with all cameras that have an HDMI output, including most DSLRs, the Panasonic AF-100, Sony F3, RED ONE, RED Scarlet and RED Epic. The EVF is compatible with the Blackmagic Camera (or other camera with no HDMI output) with use of the Blackmagic HD-SDI to HDMI mini converter. The EVF allows you to operate with your camera "in-line" with your rod system and an offset viewfinder in front of your eye. We believe, this traditional film camera and ENG camera style of shooting is the most stable and comfortable. Now we can work this way with any camera! The EVF enhances the stability of any set up, gives you better resolution and focus ability, allows you to get your eye where it most comfortably needs to be, enables low mode shooting, and shortens a shoulder mounted camera package. With an external viewfinder, you’re no longer trapped behind the back of your camera. You can have your camera on a dolly or crane or in a car or anywhere and have the EVF in your hand.

The Z-Finder EVF Pro is a complete EVF with diopter. It includes the EVF Flip model and an optical viewfinder which can snap onto the frame of the monitor and also flip up 180 degrees. The optical viewfinder contains high quality 2.5x optics with anti-fog shields and a diopter. It also includes three extender frames. The Z-Finder Extender Frames allow you to further adjust the focal point of the Z-Finder by semi-permanently stacking the frames via a snap fit onto the skirt of the Z-Finder until the LCD screen is in focus for you. You can then dial in closer with the diopter wheel.

Z-Focus with ZipGear Prime Lens Kit

The Z-Focus is an extremely accurate follow focus that allows the operator or assistant to pull focus. This kit includes the Z-Focus and a set of (4) ZipGear Universals and is for 15mm lightweight rods. The follow focus mechanism utilizes a set of gears that connect to and spin the focus ring (.8/32 geared lenses) or the ZipGear (4 included) on the camera lens for lenses that are not geared. The 3D white marking disk allows the focus puller or operator to create distance marks for repeatable focus pulls.

Rod Riser for Scarlet and Epic Cameras

The Rod Riser for Scarlet and Epic Cameras is for use with our C300 Studio Baseplate. It attaches to the front of the C300 Studio Baseplate via two Allen screws. This riser allows you to use our Studio Baseplate with a Scarlet or Epic and add a follow focus and matte box. The Studio Baseplate is a flat, light platform with rods running through the plate, plus a rod port on each side. It is an easily adaptable, elegant solution for the C300 and now the Scarlet and Epic too! The Rod Riser for Scarlet and Epic Cameras comes with two 4.5” female/female front quick releasable rods.

Recoil for Canon C100-C300-C500, Scarlet and Epic Cameras

The Recoil is the ultimate balanced rig for the C300/100/500, Scarlet and Epic Cameras. In the Recoil concept, the camera sits directly on your shoulder like a typical ENG camera. The Recoil is super light and stripped down (if you are looking for something even more stripped down, check out the Recoil Lite). The Recoil starts with our Studio Baseplate. It attaches to the camera with 3/8” 16 and ¼” 20 screws*. There are 12” lightweight spaced 15mm threaded rods running through the Studio Baseplate. These can be extended to hold additional accessories at the front or back of the kit. The can slide back and forth through the plate to accommodate different lens lengths by loosening the two levers on the side of the plate. The Studio Baseplate also features lightweight spaced rod holes on either side of the plate. They accept a female rod end (or Zacuto Zamerican Articulating Arm ) and tighten with an Allen. When sitting on a tripod, you can mount a Zwiss Plate from the rod ports on the side of the baseplate (via two short female/female rods, not included) for better balance.

Unique to the Recoil is the use of the Zacuto Q-Release and Shoulder Pad. The Q-release allows you to mount the shoulder pad directly underneath the camera and be able to quickly release the shoulder pad from the rig by flipping two levers. This gives you two things: the ability to quickly attach the rig to a tripod and vice versa, and the ability to have the camera sit directly on your shoulder eliminating the front heaviness. Coming off the front of the Recoil is our dual handgrip system, the Zgrips V3.

The Recoil requires the use of an EVF. We recommend using the Z-Finder EVF Pro and the EVF Rod Mount to mount the EVF to the Recoil. Our Grip Relocator for the C100/300/500** would be a great addition to this kit.

Stinger Plus for Canon C100-C300-C500

The Stinger Plus rig is an in-line system best used on long shooting days. It features our Studio Baseplate for Canon C100-C300-C500 Cameras which attaches to the camera with 3/8” 16 and ¼” 20 screws. This baseplate features a pair of 15mm rods that are 12” long running through the length of the baseplate. You can quickly reposition the rods for various lens lengths by loosening the 2 levers, one on each side of the baseplate. On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15mm lightweight spaced holes. The side holes take 15mm female rods that are locked via an Allen screw. This gives users a virtually unlimited amount of mounting options. The side holes can be used for an EVF, Zacuto articulating arms, rods and more. The baseplate has standard ¼” 20 and 3/8” 16 holes on the bottom for mounting the rig onto a tripod.

The Stinger Plus differs from the Stinger by including a Zwiss Plate instead of a Z-Lite weight. The Zwiss Plate allows you attach external recorders and professional batteries such as V-mount style or 3-stud gold mount. This is particularly useful for Canon C500 users. The professional batteries and/or recorder act as a counterbalance to balance your rig. The Stinger Plus also comes with one Wireless Plate Pro attached to the side of the Zwiss plate to hold wireless mic receivers, small recorders, etc.. There is room for one extra Wireless Plate Pro. When sitting on a tripod, the Zwiss Plate can mount from the rod ports on the side of the baseplate (via two short female/female rods, not included) for better balance.

The Zwiss plate has been tested with the following recorders- Onboard S, Ki Pro Quad. The Gemini 4:4:4, or any other ¼ 20” accessory, can be attached with an articulating arm coming from the side of the baseplate, attached to a rod, or attached to an empty rod port on the Zwiss Plate.

This rig can be used on your left or right shoulder. With the shoulder pad and Zwiss plate coming directly off of the back of the baseplate, the rig is perfectly in-line and ready to be used with one of our EVFs for traditional ENG style shooting. You can mount your EVF to the side of the rig using our EVF Standard Mount. This rig is compatible with any 15mm accessories. The Z-Focus would be a great add on accessory if you are looking for a follow focus. Our Grip Relocator, which relocates the Canon C100 & C300 grip to our handgrip, can be attached easily and quickly.*

* The Grip Relocator can also be used with the C500. However, the C500 camera does not come with the Canon Grip. You must purchase that separately from Canon.
